October 30 2005, India's ace Formula One driver Narain Karthikeyan driving
his Jordan at 300 kmph+ speed at Marine Drive (Marine Drive is 2 miles street in south Mumbai
along the sea). This news about demo of formula one thrilled everyone. Scary part was
at such a high speed even a small piece of obstacle on the road would throw whole car
for toss.
Kumar Ram Narain Karthikeyan was born on January 14, 1977.
Formula One Debut: Jordan team in 2005.

Sundaram Karivardhan Known as Kari or SK was born on
20 June 1954 in Coimbatore to noted Indian freedom
Fighter G.K.Sundaram from the Lakshmi Mills textile family. He did his MS from UCLA,
Los Angeles.
Kari returned to India in mid-70s and started taking part in Car Race since 1973. Every
Year he came up with newly constructed Formula car from his own garage. Cars he raced
Ranged from Premier Padmini.Datsun 510,Sipani Dolphin,Formula Atlantic,Several Formula
Cars of his own design and in final years Formula 3. His last race was in a Formula
Ford, in McDowells livery in Chennais MMSC track.
Kari was a Pilot and owned a Cessena Airplane. He started a plant to manufacture Power Gliders
using a Yezdi 250cc Motorcycle Engine. To test these gliders, he would fly over Ooty
Mountains and near by area.
He died on 24th August 1995, while flying a Puspak Trainers Aircraft.

Vijay Mallya

Vijay Mallya famous for King fisher brand, is winner of trophies in professional car racing
circuits, notably at the Sholavaram track in Chennai during 70's and 80's. He drove a
Formula 1 car in early 80's in the open class.
In 2004 he bought
sword of Tipu Sultan in some auction in London and brought it back
to India. Mallya says india can host a grand prix in Delhi in 2009.

Karun Chandhok born on January 19, 1984 in Madras, became the first ever Formula Asia V6 by Renault Champion in October 2006. In 2000 he made a record breaking 7 race victories in Indian National Racing. Pole Ptosition and fastest lap in all the 10 races which is still a national record.

The 31-year-old from Coimbatore was offered from Fiat Abarth (Italy) to drive for their works team in the 2006 European championship as well as the 2007 World Series. Five-time National rally champion, V.R. Naren Kumar, who has a vast experience driving the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 7, Suzuki Baleno and Honda Civic.
